Ventilator Weaning

After a few days at the new hospital, Melissa is making huge strides in getting off the ventilator:
6 hours on a trach collar with just oxygen yesterday
12 hours on the trach collar today
Speaking valve in the trach for part of today so she could talk a bit
Swallow study tomorrow where they have her swallow contrast and use x-ray to make sure it is all going where it is supposed to
Physical and occupational therapy with each day
We are really grateful for such amazing progress! Please continue to pray for no setbacks and continued forward momentum.
