Tracheostomy

Hi everyone, just a quick update. Melissa will be getting a tracheotomy at some point today. This allows the doctors to remove the breathing tube and connect the ventilator to the trache. Ultimately, the hope is this facilitates quicker weaning from sedation and the ventilator.
Please pray for a smooth procedure with minimal complications, and that this really does speed the recovery process.
I’m sure this was not in your plan for recovery but pray that it can be the means to a better end and a quicker return to home! Melissa- you are a trooper! Know that you & Jeff and your family are in our prayers.
Will be praying about this - it sounds like a potentially positive development.
