More Waiting

We saw the cardiovascular surgeon who is on service a little while ago. There is a lot for which to be thankful:

  • No more arrhythmias since the other night

  • The ventilator is at a moderate setting

  • Fluid levels continue to go down

Unfortunately , this is a long road we are traveling with Melissa. More time is needed to get fluid levels lower. They also need time to reduce or eliminate medications that are controlling blood pressure and heart rhythms. There is a good chance Melissa will continue on the ventilator for a large part of the upcoming week.

I am making a conscious decision to focus on the destination and not all of the curves and bumps in the road.

Prayers are greatly appreciated. Some more specific things:

  • Gratitude that heart rhythm has been normal

  • Emotional strength for us, Melissa's family

  • Continued progress with recovery and that everything would move toward getting off the ventilator soon

Thanks for all of your support and prayers.

Jeff, thanks for keeping us so well apprised on Melissa's recovery; I imagine it takes some emotional strength to keep up with all this. Thank you; you're being prayed for.
