Home Sweet Home

After 23 days in the hospital, I was discharged and came home last night. It is good to be home, but it is also an adjustment. I have to navigate stairs, remember to take my meds, etc. I am also still feeling the effects of general anesthesia from my surgery on Wednesday.

My IV antibiotics were delivered last night. My home health nurse will come today to administer them through Penelope the PICC line. I will have several weeks of at home antibiotics before I transition to oral antibiotics.

What a journey it has been, and will continue to be as I will navigate the infection and the damage it caused the rest of my life. But, I am grateful for all the medical interventions that have gotten me to this point and will continue to let me live my life.
