Hard Work

About a week ago, Melissa moved to a different hospital for focused physical rehabilitation. The move opened an entirely new chapter in her recovery, one filled with milestones and hard work.

  • The trach was removed and Melissa no longer needs oxygen

  • She has taken a shower - twice

  • Each day has three hours of therapy split among physical therapy, occupational therapy, and speech therapy

  • Currently, she is not getting nutrition from the feeding tube, just what she eats at each meal

  • She sits up in her chair often

  • She is sleeping through the night

  • She walks with a couple hundred feet each day using a walker

  • Enjoys time outside each day

So much progress, but not without a lot of hard work 🙂. If you are local, Melissa welcomes visitors. You can check with Jeff for details.
