I maybe dating myself with the SNL clip, but just this week the Nurse Practitioner at the Cardio-thoracic surgeon's office said, ..."and you are so young".

I started writing this blog in secret. I figured it would be a way to "create" something while I am laying low at home. Once I started creating, it became quite cathartic - a way for me to process all the thoughts and chaos that have been swirling around for months. After a bit, I got up the courage to show it to my hubby and our son. They of course were very encouraging and affirming about the whole thing. I wrote a few more posts, and got up the courage to share the blog with my parents, in-laws, sibling and sibling-in-laws. Then family members started asking if they could share the blog with others, to which I said, "sure". I gained a bit more confidence and texted the link to a few friends. And then finally I posted the link on Facebook. Talk about putting yourself out there!

My friend Mary said this,

"Maybe time to write a how to book about living with and managing a chronic illness with style and grace. It surely would help a lot of people (patients, family members, friends, co workers, neighbors, etc). It would be a best seller.

And I will only take my 10% 4 going on the record suggesting it.".

I have officially documented your idea/concept and the terms of your contract, Mary! 🤣

Many of you reached out via text with positive feedback, and I am so appreciative. My confidence has been boosted. I know that there may be negative feedback at some point, but for now I will bask in the glow of positivity.

As my journey towards surgery continues, I will use this blog to keep people updated. Hubby has full admin rights (and is a gifted writer) to update the blog on my behalf or as a guest writer.

THANK YOU for taking the time to read my thoughts. I am humbled and grateful.
