not a lot has changed.

I have been trying to write this blog post for several days now. The truth is, not a lot has changed and that is disappointing and frustrating. My SED and CRP blood tests have continued to come back high/out of range. The last time I had bloodwork it showed that my SED rate came down considerably, but my CRP went up a bit. Over the past weeks we have tweaked meds, added meds, changed meds, etc. Some of those meds have side effects that have negatively impacted how I feel. My rheumatologist would like me to get a PET scan to determine if and where there is inflammation in my body. Unfortunately, our medical insurance doesn't approve PET scans for anything but cancer diagnoses. We are trying to figure out if we can appeal or request a medical review to establish medical necessity. I am discouraged and it is affecting my mood.

BUT - I have had lots of great people visit over the last few weeks. It has been nice to catch up with friends. A couple friends have brought over activities - I have painted, made rock art, and made cards on a Cricut Joy. I have been working on a puzzle, practicing my knitting and refining my Sudoko skills.
