What is Rare Disease Day?

Each year I post about Rare Disease Day and Takayasu's Arteritis (my diagnosed rare disease). Here is my original post about Rare Disease Month 2023. See below for a special thank you to those who participated in the Rare Disease Virtual 10K on my behalf.

My hubby likes to run. So, when I saw that he could participate in a Virtual 10K for Rare Disease Day, I knew he wouldn't be able to resist. But he took it a step further and challenged others to participate on my behalf as well. My friend (of 15+ years) Veronica walked her 10K on the treadmill at the gym. My friend Dianne (who I met in kindergarten) walked her 10K outside in California, and had her cute little dog LJ join her for the last mile. And Hubby ran his 10K on the Prairie Path.
