Part II Complete

The procedure to place a stent in Melissa's aortic arch was finished early this afternoon. It went well and the surgeon is cautiously optimistic that it will contain the leak in the aorta causing the pseudoaneurysm. The procedure was complex, especially because the coils he placed in the pseudoaneurysm last September made it difficult to see exactly where the hole in the aorta is.

The next 24 hours are critical. Melissa remains intubated and on the ventilator while she recovers. They are closely monitoring her blood pressure as well as her pain levels.

Thank you again for the thoughts and prayers!

Please continue to pray:

  • That everything stabilizes appropriately overnight

  • That Melissa can get off the ventilator with no ill effects quickly

  • That the procedures over the last few days provide relief from the pain and a period of stability with her health

  • Continued wisdom and skill for the team caring for Melissa

  • Comfort and peace for our entire family
