Cautious Optimism

Hi everyone, apologies for not updating every day. There are so many ups and downs each day that it's a rollercoaster. BUT today was a day of cautious optimism. Melissa spent about eight hours on a ventilator setting that allowed her to initiate the breaths (pressure support). Her heart has been in a normal sinus rhythm with no arrhythmias for about a day. Blood pressure and heart rate stayed in normal ranges, and the level of gases in her blood (O2, CO2, etc) also were close to normal.
These are all really good things! There's still a long way to go, so I am trying to stay in a steady emotional state 🙂. One doctor today told me that they are watching second by second and we need to live day by day... it's easy to lost in those second by second changes.
I also want to reiterate how grateful we are for everyone's support and help during this time. It means the world to us!
Probably the biggest thing to pray for now is that Melissa would string together multiple good days like today.
