Bumps in the road

**** Update ****

The procedure to replace the PEG tube was successful. Melissa's tissue is pretty beat up from corticosteroids used to treat Takayasu's Arteritis. This meant some creativity and also holds some risk with the tube moving forward. But they were able to fix it in a minimally invasive way and she is back in her room getting settled.

Thank you for your prayers!

Over the weekend, Melissa started to have some belly pain. Today they did a CT scan to investigate. They found that the stomach tube (PEG) used to provide nutrition had pulled out slightly. It may or may not be the cause of the pain, but it is important to fix it.

Melissa will be going into surgery tonight to get it resolved. Please pray for:

  • Peace for Melissa as she is awake enough to know what is happening

  • Successful procedure with no complications

  • Wisdom for the doctors
